2002  ~ Y4 Walk to Denham - 10 July

Off we set,
ready to face every challenge.

The first came as we turned off
to follow the footpath by the River Pinn - nettles, brambles and mud.

Once we passed the fierce dogs
and the aggressive geese
there was the broken stile.

Then there was the field
of young friendly cows..
a little too friendly, perhaps.

~~~
Sorry, no pictures of the mud.
Mr. Rutter had other things
to think about!
~~~

Eventually we got to Denham Deep Lock
- is that the sun shining?

Later we returned to the lock for a talk.
The rain was back by now.

At last there was time for lunch.

Mrs Davonport certainly seems
to have enjoyed hers!

Ah, the sun's shining again. Corra took us through a river study activity.

We all paid great attention since there were things we had to do ...

including working out the maths
(yes, mental addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
- and we got it right!)
