2005  ~ 4 November: Y4's Visit to Verulamium

First we took a look at what was left of the Roman Theatre.
Thank goodness that after the rain on the day before the sun was shining!
Although we can see the pattern of the theatre on the ground,
it was quite difficult to know what it was like when the Roman's used it.

Later we visited the Verulamium Museum.
We learnt how to construct an arch, studied the mosaics
archeologists had found under the ground nearby
and were able to handle some of the things
the Romans used two thousand years ago.

In the museum we also dressed up as Romans.
Of course one of the best moments of the day was lunch!
