On 29 November Rev. Guthrie took that day's assembly.  
He brought something with him...

 ... he took the cover off and showed us a Christmas Tree made out of card. 
Rev. Guthrie talked about the special day at St Giles 
just before the first Sunday in Advent. 

Then he told us about their Advent ring with its five candles: three purple for Abraham (Advent 1), the Prophets (Advent 2) and for John the Baptist (Advent 3); one that is pink for Mary (Advent 4); and a white one for Jesus to be lit on Christmas Day.  We remembered these as we 'decorated' the tree.
