Autumn 2005 - Spring 2006
Installation of the new playground equipment - 1

The climbing frame on the Infant playground
was getting very old and it was decided that it needed to be replaced.

On 7 September both the Junior School and the Infant and Nursery School
held a sponsored 'Walkathon' to raise money towards replacement equipment.
Also, both schools were involved in a national initiative
for developing physical education,
including healthy, active play, which included funding for a scheme such as this.

After the autumn half term we all returned to school
to find the old wooden climbing frame
on the Infant School playground had been removed.
All that was left were the bottom stumps sticking up from the ground.
Some children in the Junior School remembered with fond memories
the happy times they had spent playing on it!

Soon these too disappeared.

For a long time nothing seemed to happen.
Then suddenly, on  Wednesday the 7 December
two men arrived with lots of strange bits and pieces.

Very soon some holes appeared in the ground...

Work had begun!

By the next day,  Thursday 8 December,  there was something to see!

There was plenty of help in telling the men how to fit the pieces together!

This looks as if it is going to be great fun when it's finished!

By  Friday (9 December)  there was even more:
it was beginning to look really exciting!

I wonder what it will look like after the weekend?
