Year 4's visit to Southall Mosque

Last year the children now in Year 4 had visited the two churches in Ickenham
 - St Giles and
the United Reform.
There they saw how Christians learnt more about their faith and worshiped God.
This year they wanted to learn more about Islam so they went on a visit to Southall Mosque where they met Mr Ahmed, who has visited us at school several times.

Inside the mosque we looked up and saw the painted ceiling and the Chandelier.
The Muslims do not allow pictures of people in their mosques

Mr Ahmed talked to us.

In the mosque the girls and women
covered their heads...

And we all took off our shoes. We learnt about some of
the traditional actions
Some of them seemed strange to many of us.
Mr Ahmed's daughter was also there and talked to us.
Because people take off their shoes
We had a very interesting trip which certainly helped us
understand our Muslim friends better.
