28 February 2006 ~
Year 6, Bhaktivedanta Manor

On the last day of February 2006 Year 6 took the coach to
Letchmoor Heath near Watford and Bhaktivedanta Manor,
the English home of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness
It was a beautify sunny day. We all got in the ox cart....
and were taken across the fields... to the Cow Shed.
Then we saw the sources
of renewable energy..
the wind turbine
and the solar panels.
We looked around the gardens which were very peaceful.
We saw a special ox cart
for processions
... before going in doors.
There we were shown how the Hindus practice meditation and tried it for ourselves.
Then it was time to try out some traditional ways of Hindu dressing...
including dressing as some of the Hindu gods.
For some reason some of the boys though this was the best bit of the day!

The girls tried on some traditional Indian Sarees
Here we are, dressed for action!

Finally, before leaving, we visited the Shrine.

It had been an interesting visit and certainly helped us
understand our Hindu friends better.
