The ECO Group's trip to RES

On Tuesday 23 January 2007 the ECO group with some friends
went on a visit to RES - Renewable Energy Systems - a company with its headquarters landmarked by a 34m high wind turbine next to the M25.

Their building was once part of the Ovaltine Egg Farm,
used to house the young chicks!

We arrived around 11.30 a.m.

And walked to the Education Room

We were shown some slides about energy and how it is produced.

We could see the wind turbine
across the courtyard.

We then went outside to see the solar pannels.

They had a special small one powering an electric train.

We found by covering sections of the pannel we could reduce the energy produced.

Then we went to look at the wind turbine.

Most people who travel on the M25

have seen this!

Although the sun was shining it was very cold outside,
so we played a game to warm up.

Then it was time for lunch and a word search.

Finally we did some art depicting what we had been finding out about.
