Year 4 Bring and Buy Sale for Water Aid

Lucie, one of our Year 4 pupils reports:
On Tuesday, 19 June the children in Year 4 put on the yearly Water Aid event to help families in Africa to build a well for safer drinking water.  The children in Year 4 designed ways to help raise money.  Each small group of children designed a stall in which they could raise money. The stalls ranged from ‘Guess the object’, ‘Guess the teddy’s name’, ‘How many sweets in a jar’, ‘Guess the weight of the cake’, plus many more.  They also had a refreshments and cake stall.

The event started at 1.30 p.m.  Each year group (2, 3, 5 & 6) came out at individual times so as to ease the pressure for the stall holders.  Everyone had a fantastic time.  All the stalls were very busy.  The children in Year 4 loved every minute of it.  The event finished at 3 p.m.  Year 4 children helped to raise the large amount of £721.  This was a new record for Breakspear’s annual Water Aid Bring and Buy.  Thanks to all the children, teachers and parents who helped at this great event.

Mrs Davonport checks all is ready Nail painting takes a lot of care
So does adding that bit of colour to the hair!
There are some really interesting stalls...
Some of the games take thought
while others take skill.
The welly throwing took some determination!
Year 4 seem to have chosen some very popular games
And the cake stalls seemed to be popular!
It was a great event - Thank you Year 4!
