Year 5's Visit to Hampton Court

All three Year 5 classes visited Hampton Court to help them
in their study of the Tudors.

Cardinal Wolsey's Thames side palace, given to Henry VIII to try
and soften the King's displeasure, is a wonderful place to visit
- so much to see, so much history within those walls.

The kitchens always fascinate - all that food in preparation,
and no one around to eat it!

In the Education Centre we were able to see what made up a Tudor courtier's dress

The gateway tower to the main court was being renovated,
so we could not see the astronomical clock
(this is a picture from 2007).

Leaving the palace, we saw how impressive was the main gate.
