26 November 2009 ~ Year 5's Visit to the Gurdwara - 1

On Thursday 26th November Year 5 set off for the Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha in Southall. This is a very new and splendid gurdwara built just six years ago.


We got off the coach and, after crossing the road, entered the gurdwara. The first thing we did was to remove our shoes. Then we needed to cover our heads. The girls had brought head scarves with them; the boys were loaned a special covering or 'Rumāl'.


We needed to wash our hands and then went to a large room for a talk about Sikhism. Some of the information we knew, since we had been learning about the Sikh religion at school.
