8 July 2010 ~ The BBC Film at Breakspear

Every now and again we get asked if the BBC can have some of our pupils
to take part in one of their CBBC programmes -
we've always said 'Yes!'

This time pupils from Years 5 & 6 were required to tell some animal jokes (and, if possible, give an animal impression) to be used in the 2010-11 series of Roar.

First Mr Rutter auditioned all those who would 'like to have a go'
from which he selected 30 children - wherever possible five from each class.

The filming took place on Thursday 8 July in the studio.
Meyrick, who was doing the filming, got ready.

A green background was used so later the children can be
projected against a jungle setting.

After everyone had done their joke (on their own or as part of a group)
Meyrick wanted to film everyone laughing, including some closeups.

Not everybody seems to have got the joke!
