2010 - Britain since 1930

12 February 2010 ~ 6G Investigates Britain since 1930

A cold overcast day and we set off for West Ruislip station and the train to London.


We arrived at St Paul's where Mrs Gray took this group photograph.

From there it was just a short walk across the Millennium Bridge to Tate Modern (the building in the background).


After our morning at Tate Modern we walked down to London Bridge and the Britain At War Experience. There was a short video.


Then we explored the galleries, finding answers to the questions on our worksheets.

We tried out the Morrison shelter...

...and the Anderson Shelter. It must have been frightening with the sounds of air raids overhead.

There were also some uniforms we could try on.



A final picture and it was time to set off for home.
