13 December 2011 ~ 4D's visit to Verulamium

On the 13 December Year 4 set off for St Albans
and the Roman city of Verulamium.
First stop for 4D, the remains of the ancient Roman Theatre.
Outdoors, of course!

Then into the warmth of the museum and the education room.
There we were able to handle some genuine objects
that the Romans would have used.

Then it was time to dress up -
what the well-dress Roman might have worn?

Lunch time and fortunately we were able to use a hall near by -
it all looked very Christmassy.

After lunch, back into the cold and across the fields to the hypocaust.
We wished the under floor heating was back in operation.
While we were out side we took a look of what was left of the old city wall.
Then back to the museum and a look at the fantastic floor mosaics.
