10 October 2013  ~ Harvest Festival

10 o'clock, at we all come into the hall for our harvest festival.
All the harvest produce we brought in has been arranged in a wonderful display.

We all sit ready for our special assembly to begin.

Mrs Sumner introduces our guest Major Carpagnano from the Salvation Army
and then asks us to stand for our first song
- 'Here comes autumn
'

Miss Hall helps us remember the words and the actions!

Then it is time for the Reception children to sing their song
- Big Red Combine Harvester

We all listen to them singing beautifully

Then it's time for Year 1 to sing 'Harvest Samba'
- this is a really catchy song!

Major Carpagnano then talks to us, telling us how grateful people will be
for our harvest gifts, and we say a prayer about how
thankful we are for all we have.

Then it's our turn (Year 2) to sing our songs, first a slow sad one
- 'Picture of autumn' ....

... then a joyful, happy one -
'The farmer gathers his hay today'.

At the end of our special harvest assembly
Miss Hall leads us in our final song - 'We thank you'.
