Nursery's Forest School Experience - 1

Breakspear 'Summer of Sports' and a Nursery Forest School event
- "What have they got in common?" you may ask.
As the name suggest, a Forest School event
is all about getting children to interact with the outdoor environment
and a component of the PE curriculum is 'Outdoor and Adventurous Activities'.
And that is exactly what Forest School is all about, introducing
(if they haven't already been there) children
to a variety of exciting and adventurous activities.
And by the time you've read these pages, you will agree they certainly are!

Sue Webber led children in a range of activities
over four days in June (17, 18, 24 & 25).
While Sue was taking some groups
other members of the nursery staff led other activities.

Let's take a look!

Meeting, getting to know each other,
exploring the things that live in the ground.

Off to Kathy's Garden and the pond to see what is living in the water.

Building a camouflaged shelter.

Collecting natural materials and using them to design and make patterns.
