The shoppers are out busy preparing for Christmas,
the carol singers are out,
and the first song is sung.

The children encounter a toy seller who persuades them
to take as a gift an old battered jigsaw puzzle. 
They soon realize there is something 'magical' about it.

The first piece of the puzzle shows a Roman soldier.
A soldier like those that came to Nazareth and told the people 
there was to be census and each person had to return to their home town.

The next piece of the puzzle is taken from the box.
The Nazarenes listen to the Emperor's command,
including Mary and Joseph who must now set out for Bethlehem 
where Joseph was born.
