The Christmas production for 1956 was a retelling of the story of Amahl, a crippled boy who entertains the wise men on their way to find the baby Jesus and then goes with them to be healed on seeing the baby. The Gazette included a picture of the production amongst its 'roundup' of Christmas events from various schools around the area. The caption read: The scene inside the shepherd's cottage in Breakspear School's ambitious production of "Amahl and the Night Visitors." Apart from the play on Wednesday night, carols were sung by the school choir. [21 December 1956] |
