"Which four 'friends' would we see
today?" we asked before school started |

We eagerly awaited the first 'fried... |
a beautifully coloured bird. |

| We saw how well it was adapted... | to forest life. |

| It didn't talk... | what was it? |

| The next 'friend'... | enjoyed mud! |

| It spends a lot of time in water... | |

| but doesn't live there. | What is it? |

| The third 'friend' needed uncurling... | its relatives can grow very long. |

| Meals are once every two weeks... | |

| The final 'friend' has had a long journey south... |

| enjoyed exploring the hall... | but couldn't quite find the way out! |

| There were lots of prickles... | though we could still stroke it. |
