Year 4's trip to the London Zoo

We didn't all want to get to the station
at the same time, so Mrs Davonport
set off first.

Fortunately we didn't have to wait
 at the station too long.

At first we had the train to ourselves.

But later we had to change trains, we don't appear to have minded too much!

Yes there really are monkeys in there - somewhere! Our first look at the vultures.

The spider monkeys were much
easier to see...
as were these bearded pigs.
This bird appears to be making a nest. And we found this pygmy hippopotamus
enjoying the water!
Then there were ponies and llamas
to be seen
What are they looking at..?
and these groups too..? a bactrian camel from Asia!
Back to the vultures; ugh,
this looks grizzly!
Ah, the rock hopper penguins
seem a bit more friendly.
Time for lunch, we were hungry! Then on to see more birds.
These beautify hyacinth macaws
made a terrible noise!
Mr Rutter would insist on going into the
bug house to see the locust.
Though trying to catch the fish on film without a filter was a bit of a failure! The tigers seemed to be resting.
What do camels have for lunch...? Sandwiches! Just like us!
Then there was a short talk
in the lecture theatre.
Finally we all gathered by the entrance...
... ready for the journey home.
We were rather sad to be leaving,
it had been a great day!
