No, we didn't have to climb over this wall to get into the Hillingdon Outdoor Activities Centre, but this picture of one of us facing an impossible task; getting a helping hand, and succeeding: very much what the day was about! |
A nice little 'warm up' activity was to travel along
these blocks. Some of us had a better sense of balance than others! |
One of our tasks was to get somebody through this deadly
spider's web. They probably weren't supposed to touch the threads (you never know when the giant spider might come to find you), but that was 'easier said than done!' |
Um, what do we do with these poles then? Well, this turned out to be the biggest challenge of all, raft building! So we all got to work with wood, rope and barrels. |
Tying the knots securely wasn't very easy. |
Well, now to try it out. |
Elsewhere at the centre, these children,
unable to see, put their trust in a thread and where it will lead them. |
Meanwhile, the rafts are being lifted into the
water. Off we go! |
Plenty of 'hands' to get us across the lake. |
But is everything going to plan? |
