Amazon World |
|
At Amazon World we learnt a great deal about the threat to the Rain
Forests, both the plant life and the animals that live there. |
|
Who was looking at who? | |
There was so much to see, both indoors and outside.
The demonstrations with the birds of prey was both fascinating and frightening... |
|
right between the arms, watch out Miss Day! |
... phew, that was neatly done. |
On the walk from Sandown to Shanklin we recalled all we had learnt about erosion and saw how too much of the coast was being destroyed . |
|
Fort Victoria |
|
At Fort Victoria, we learnt about seaweeds and other things to be found on the shore. |
Then went to see what we could find. An old sock! |
And plenty more |
In the aquarium we found out about the local sea life. |
Alum Bay |
|
At Alum Bay, Mrs Gray took the chair lift down to the beach |
and everybody else followed! |
After a quick close up look at the coloured sands.. |
we boarded a boat... |
and set off for the Needles
The Glassworks |
|
Back at the top of the cliffs at Alum Bay | we visited the Glassworks |
Tennyson Down |
|
From Alum Bay it was a stiff walk ... | up to the monument on Tennyson Down |
Some of us made the journey quicker than others, but we all got there in the end! |
