Day one setting off well before 8 a.m. we settled into our seats and set off.  

First stop, a break at Leicester Forest Service Station.

Then it was on, up to Matlock Bath ... 
... and the Heights of Abraham, a stiff uphill walk. 

Time for a pause.

Then it's more up hill walking ... 
but lunch and some play equipment is at the top!
