Year 6 pupils were offered a course in cycle training. 
A third of the year group took up the opportunity.
And so for four weeks they turned up at school 
on either Saturday morning or afternoon for the course.  

The first week was spent on basic skills on the playground.

After that it was out onto the roads around Ickenham.  
First not too far from the school gate in Hoylake Crescent 
learning to mount their bikes, but being aware of passing traffic ...
