On Monday 23 June Jason Rohan, one of the school's parents 
and newly published author of the children's book 
The Sword of Kuromori visited to talk to the Juniors.

After lunch and the Junior assembled in the hall ...

Mr Rohan talked about his early life and his travels, especially his stay in Japan.

He also talked about some of the Japanese gods and goddesses 
he had included in his story.

After the main assembly, Mr Rohan led a workshop with Year 6, 
looking in greater depth at the Japanese language 
and some of the themes in his book.

It was great to talk with a 'real, live author', 
especially one so 'close to home!'
