Year 4 visit Roman Verulamium - 4B's Day-1

Wednesday 10th November and Year 4 set off for the St. Albans,
and the ancient Roman city of Verulamium.

Much of the city had been destroyed long ago, with many of the stones and bricks reused to build, among other things, the medieval cathedral.

First stop - A look at the Roman central heating system - the hypercaust.

Then across the fields, past some of the old Roman wall ....

...to the remains of the Roman theatre.

Then we headed for the museum.
We were lucky enough to handle some real Roman items
