13 December 2011 ~ 4O's visit to Verulamium

On the 13 December Year 4 set off for St Albans
and the Roman city of Verulamium.
First stop for 4O, the Museum and the numismatic display.

Then some work in the main section of the museum.

Then it was coats on and out across the fields
to see the remains of the Roman Walls.
This called for a 'commemorative' picture.

Lunch time and fortunately we were able to use a hall near by -
cramped but warm - it all looked very Christmassy.

After lunch, back into the museum and we were able to study
some genuine Roman remains at close quarters.
Two of us dressed up in Roman style costume.
Finally, before the trip home, we took at look at
the outdoor Roman theatre and the hypocaust.
