~ Year 4's Visit to Verulamium - 4D's Day

On the 29 November Year 4 set off for St Albans
and the Roman city of Verulamium.
First stop for 4D, the Roman hypocaust - or central heating system.

Then into the museum and a session where we could handle Roman artifacts.

 After that we had a talk on Roman costume;
some of us were dressed in clothes of that period in history.
 Then it was time for lunch in the nearby cafe
(conveniently closed to the general public over the winter season).

Finally outside into the open to see what was left
of the Roman city walls and the theatre.
