11 February 2013  ~ Year 6 Visit the Globe Theatre and the Museum of London - 6S's Day

On 11 February 2013 6S set off for the Globe Theatre and the Museum of London. First stop, West Ruislip Station, the Central Line, and St Paul's.

Once off the Underground, past St Paul's, across the Millennium Footbridge
and, sheltering from the rain, a quick snack
- lunch will be a long time away!

Once inside the Globe Theatre we were grateful we had sheltered seating as we listened to a description of the theatre and how it was used in Shakespeare's day.

Then we looked at the museum section with Tudor costumes
and other things today with how plays were performed over 400 years ago.

We then set off back across the Millennium Bridge
and headed towards The Museum of London.

Our reward, once we got there, was lunch.

Then, off to explore the galleries,
with information to find to support our current project - Britain Since 1930.

Ah, 'Watch With Mother' - 'Andy Pandy' and 'The Flowerpot Men'...
bet Mr Rutter remembers watching this!

Before we leave the museum we take a look at
the Lord Mayor of London's State Coach.
