Year 5's Residential Trip to Derbyshire - 4

Day 3
After another good night's sleep and a healthy breakfast it was time to pack.

Then onto the coach and north to Castleton.  For both groups this was a wet day,
though neither that, nor more uphill walking, dampened spirits.

The main visit was to Treak Cliff Cavern, the home of Blue John.

But also the home of stalagmites and stalactites.

Back into the open and time for a quick photo

before lunch.

For the first group, it was still dry enough for a walk across country.

While for the second, the road route was safer.

There was just enough time to take a look at the village of Castleton
with its castle on the hill...

before finding the coach for the journey back to Ickenham.

It had been a great trip and, as you can see, we thoroughly enjoyed it.
