19 November 2014 ~ Year 6 Study the
Ancient Egyptians at the British Museum - 6H

Fortunately the weather was dry when 6H set off for West Ruislip Station
on Wednesday 19 November.

We'd taken some games to help pass the time on the Central Line
as we headed towards Tottenham Court Road station.

Once in front of the British Museum, a quick snack and photo opportunity
(to replace the one taken in Year 3 !)

First stop, like all the tourists, the Rosetta Stone.
Somehow Mr. Hubbard managed to get it all to himself
(as you can see from his reflection!)

Then to explore the rest of the ground floor gallery
with its carved stones,

statues and scarabs.

Lunch and then upstairs to see the wall paintings,

jewellery and household items,

and the bodies of those with whom they were found.

It was then time to head for home.
It had been a great day and we learnt a lot.
