The Staff Room Project - Junior Staff Room

Once the roof was in place, work could begin on the inside
of what will be the new Junior School Staff Room.
Lighting cables were put into place, insulation packed into the voids between the joists and a plasterboard ceiling fixed into place.
Spaces were left in the ceiling for roof lights to arrive later.

The far end of the room, which once used to be the TV room, will be the staff work space, separated off from the main staff room by a folding screen.  A new window was cut into the external wall (this matches a similar window added to the Infant School Office, immediately below it.)

At the same time windows were being put into place.

Next, the temporary floor was replaced with the permanent one.
Everything was now ready for the walls to be plastered.

Meanwhile at the other end, the furniture has arrived for the 'kitchen' area.

With four days to go, there's still quite a bit to be done...

Working 'around the clock', the kitchen area is fitted at one end....

While at the other the 'curriculum admin' area is being furnished.
The track is in place for the partition.

Wow, this looks great: what a difference a couple of days can make!

And the partition is now in place, with a door to connect to...

the new "Curriculum Administration" workroom.

After years of planning and saving a dream has come true.
At last we have provided facilities for our staff
which will enable them to provide the highest quality of support
for future pupils at Breakspear.
